Why we make it

Some days the heavy stuff is not a backpack, it is a thought that will not leave. Our rainbow Worry Monster is built for those days. Your child writes the worry on a scrap of paper, feeds it into the mouth and pulls the zip shut.

We made him nine inches tall, soft enough to cuddle and bright enough to find under a blanket. The talk that happens while the note goes in is the real work. The monster simply gives small hands something to do with a big feeling.

A classroom necessity!
I purchased one of these for my classroom after our counselor suggested it. Students like being able to tell “someone” their worry without needing to talk about it. The zipper is sturdy and holds up to repeated use. I love the pink tie dye!

Love using it with the Worry Monster Book for Elementary Counseling
I bought this to go with The Worry Monster Book. I use this after we read the story. We write our worries down and feed them to the Worry Monster and then talk about ways to move past the worry. Once the Worry Monster eats the worry it is gone. The next time they come back they check to see if the Worry Monster still has the worry.
